End of Spring 2023

Hello Soccer Families,

This Saturday closes out the regular season for our rec players. LUSC teams have one more weekend of league play.  My favorite part about the end of the season is seeing all the progress the kids make throughout the year.  I wish I could take video of their first practice and last game to show them how they have improved.  Thank you to all our wonderful coaches who dedicate their time and energy into teaching our kids the beautiful game and encouraging them to grow.  Without you, this is not possible.  I also want to give a huge shoutout to all our board members who volunteer countless hours behind the scenes to make the season a success.  If you are interested in becoming a board member or leading a committee, please reach out to me.  As John Heywood said, many hands make light work!  I hope you all have a wonderful summer; see you in the fall. 

Re-Kicks

Our program is growing in popularity, and I am extremely grateful for everyone who has donated.  Just last week, a family donated a bag of cleats, I collected three pairs from a parent at practice, and helped two families find shin guards for their young players!  It’s a great feeling to see the program in action.  This Saturday is our last call to collect equipment for this season.  Cleats for kids ages 3-8 are our highest demand because they outgrow them so quickly.  If you have any cleats laying around or you know your child will need new ones in the spring, I encourage you to donate them to this worthwhile cause.  Stay tuned for information in the fall about our swap meet.  For more information about Re-Kicks, visit our website.

Swim Party

Join LSA for our private post-season swim party at Wollman Aquatic Center on June 2^nd from 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.  The cost is $5 per person, tickets MUST be purchased online before May 21^st.  Attendance is limited, so register now!  No tickets will be sold at the gate.  All kids under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult.  Sign up on our website and click the registration for “Spring 2023 Post Season Swim Party”.

Competitive Teams (LUSC)

Our competitive teams are finishing out the season strong with the U12 and U14 boys’ teams in contention for 1^st place in their divisions, and the U10 Lightning team is making progress for their first year together.   Coach Roy’s U14 team has one more tournament next weekend as they push to bring home some more hardware!   If your child is looking to play in a more competitive atmosphere, have them attend our Summer ID Camp and Tryouts.  More information below.

Summer Academy Camp

Coach Ken’s Summer Academy Camp begins in the middle of June and runs through the end of July.  Camp will run Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 11:00 am and all skill levels are invited to join.  Every session is filled with his focus on: Fun, Fitness, Friendship. He welcomes everyone who wants to come and learn to play and have fun together with their friends, and the friends they will make.  Players can drop in and play any time you want and whenever it meets your family time schedule.  There is a one-time registration fee of $25.  This covers your player from June 2023 – May 2024, so your child is welcome to join the spring, fall, and winter camps also!  Sign up on our website and click the registration for “Academy 2023-2024 Registration “

Competitive ID Camps and Tryouts

The summer is just around the corner and if your family is like ours you start to plan for all the activities and look for ways to keep your kids occupied, and ideally, engaged, and active.  LSA would love to be an option for you.  This summer we have a variety of options for you to select from.  If you have an aspiring soccer player in your midst, we invite you to attend our ID camps and competitive team tryouts.  We are looking to grow our competitive program going into the fall season.  If you are not sure if your child is ready for completive play that is what ID camps are for!  No matter their skill level they will have a good time.  Registration is now open for both ID Camps and summer try outs visiting our website and registering for “Competitive 2023-2024 Registration”.  For $10 your child can spend a day and a half over two Saturdays attending our ID Camps, our competitive team tryouts and participate in our ongoing academy camp that extends throughout the summer.  Here are some more details on logistics:

ID Camps:                          May 27^th – 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

                                             June 3^rd – 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Competitive Tryouts:       June 10^th – 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

                                             June 11^th (as needed) – 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Challenger Core Camp

LSA hosts this camp formerly known as International Soccer Camps.  It is rooted in British training methodology; these camps introduce our international training tactics to campers across the U.S and Canada. Challenger’s curriculum and coaching foundation meets engaging delivery for an all-around positive experience. The camp takes place June 5-9^th and runs from $120-$275 based on age and length of camp.  Sign up early to get a FREE replica jersey as part of your camper package!

Fall Registration

We’ve had a wonderful spring season and are looking forward to fall.  Mark your calendars, registration opens July 1^st and runs through July 30^th.  If you are interested in coaching next year and you would like to get some hands-on training, Coach Ken has invited new and returning coaches to join him during the Summer Camp to gain experience running practices and help with fun and educational drills for the players.  Contact Coach Ken for more details longke@yahoo.com
