Fall Season is Ready for Kickoff!
Hello Soccer Family,
Hopefully, the crazy heat wave is behind us because our spring season is ramping up. Our LUSC (competitive) teams have already hit the pitch and have several weekends under their belt. If you are interested in watching our competitive teams compete, you have six chances to catch them this weekend! Rec players, you should have heard from your coach by now. If not, please contact our Rec Director, Tiffani at recdirector@leavenworthsoccer.org. Here are some cool events we have coming up and additional information about our fall season.
Re-Kicks
We’ve collected the gear and now it’s time to share the wealth. Join us Monday, August 28th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on the south side of the LSA practice fields (corner of 10th and Gatewood). During the event you can donate additional gear, swap items, or pick up equipment for the upcoming season for free. The swap is open to any youth soccer players in our community or surrounding areas. Be sure to grab a cool treat from Traci’s Shaved Ice!
KC Current
Friday, September 1st is Leavenworth Soccer Association Night at the KC Current! Join us as we cheer on our hometown team to beat Angel City! Enjoy discounted tickets by clicking this link. Organize a team outing and get a team photo taken on the pitch! This is a great team building opportunity and a lot of fun!
Referee
We are extremely short referees this season. If you interested in becoming a referee or know someone who is? This season we are offering a $25 referral bonus for anyone who refers a NEW referee to LSA. In addition to the referral bonus, the certified referee will receive a $25 signing bonus. Referees must be certified for the 2023 or 2024 season. To become a certified referee, visit www.kansasreferee.org. Payments to both parties will be paid in full after the referee completes a minimum of four games over three separate Saturdays. Games begin Sept. 9th and end Oct. 21st. Teamsnap
We will be using the Teamsnap app again this season for communication and scheduling. Download the app to get in the know. Here are some helpful tips on Using Team Chat and Sending a Team Email.
Portable Restrooms
Great news, we now have a portable restroom at the practice fields! It is located in the island between the north and south fields. The location is indicated on the field map.
Game Schedules and Jerseys
Games begin September 9th. Game schedules will be posted by the end of the month, and we hope to have jerseys distributed to coaches by the second week of practices. If you find that you need to purchase a jersey, you can buy them at the concession stand on game day for $20.
Rainout Line
We will continue to use the Rainout Line to notify families of field closures due to weather. To be the first to know about delays and cancelations, download the Rainout Line App for Apple and Android and subscribe to notifications. Families can also call the rainout hotline (913) 347-0993. Option 1 for game fields, option 2 for practice fields or visit the homepage of our website, twitter account, or Facebook page.
